Soeur Ethington | Week 56

Hello everyone! Wow, what an amazing week it's been. So many miracles, so many tender mercies, so many good memories to make up for the bad ones. Being a missionary is such a blessing.

Also, G E N E R A L C O N F E R E N C E ! Amazing. I'd love to hear about what you all liked and learned! One of my favorite talks was Sister Sharon Eubank's on the Sunday Morning session. Some of you may remember that she came to the Visitors' Center a few months ago, so it was so special to hear her speak at Conference. I look up to her a lot. While she was here in Paris, she was able to befriend one of our amis, Jelena, and they still keep in touch! Sister Eubank even wrote Jelena to invite her to watch her speak during General Conference. What a cool opportunity it was for Jelena to watch her speak about the light that comes from Christ's love for us. 

This General Conference was extra special for me, because 1. it's the last one I'll watch as a full-time missionary, and 2. we got to watch the sessions in some really awesome settings! Soeur McOmber and I were invited by President and Sister Sorensen to watch the first session at their house, which was such an honor for us. We even got to eat pizza together with their family afterwards! We watched the other sessions at church with our district (and had a taco party between sessions!) and at the temple. I love General Conference, and I extra-love getting to hear the Prophet of God speak to us and guide us. 

Some other highlights:

- Went on exchanges in Mantes la Jolie with Soeur Amott! We had so much fun teaching their amie Milène how to pray, eating Picard at the church, and laughing our heads off after a homeless guy professed his love for Soeur Amott. 

- We taught Jelena with Sister Sorensen twice this week, and she's really starting to progress towards baptism!

- Soeur McOmber went on exchanges with Soeur Jones while I was on exchanges with Mantes, and while they were together they set 2 new baptismal dates with our amies Juliette and Sebi! My companion is so awesome.
